"Good afternoon, and a merry bonjour to all citizens of France. An hour ago, at 11:35 a.m., I had landed in this beautiful country at the Charles de Gaulle airport in the capital city of Paris. And must I say, that as I was received by the staff with such welcome and compassion, I was quite thrilled myself to see the reception I had received from the citizens of France themselves, for all of you had came out of your homes to receive me in your great country, and for that, I thank you all.
Since the medieval ages, the city of Paris has long seen its rise from a small city to a much larger, and sophisticated one itself, as we could see for ourselves today. And like the city of Paris itself, this nation too has seen its long and fair share of illustrious history, both good and bad, from the Franks to the Bourbons, Bonapartes, and ultimately, a republic that stands today. But in the midst of looking back on this nation's history, let us not forget the history that both France and Britain had shared and forged together. Throughout the times, we had at times fought against each other, and at times, stood side by side against our enemies that wished harm upon our common citizens. Citizens of France, today we shall cherish the memories we all hold dear together, and together, we shall preserve and strengthen the existing bilateral relationship between our countries. Regardless of the current state of politics in our respective countries, never shall we forget that Britain and France stand together. Je vous remercie!"
